Artist Satoko Yumoto creates "Hinamame," one-of-a-kind Hina dolls, with her delicate sense of color.
These small Hina dolls are designed to be easily displayed and enjoyed in modern living spaces, while cherishing ancient Japanese traditions and beautiful customs. The meticulous craftsmanship is the charm of "Hinamame."

These Kimekomi Hina dolls have an adorable, plump bean-like form. For their kimonos, rare antique fabrics are used, which have been carefully preserved from the Meiji and Taisho eras to the early Showa period. Edo chirimen (crepe fabric) and high-quality fabrics with delicate embroidery and shibori (tie-dyeing) were discovered throughout Japan. Their unique colors, patterns, and textures add an elegant touch.

The gentle expressions of the Hina dolls and Inubako (dog boxes) are meticulously hand-painted by a specialist doll face artist. The auspicious-themed OHAJIKI (glass marbles for play) are individually molded from stone clay and then layered with soft colors. When displayed on a beeswax-finished takatsuki (tall tray), they become even more expressive.

The wooden Hoju (sacred gem) and Hagoita (battledore) are also finished with intricate handiwork. The Hoju is a gem said to grant all wishes. As a symbol of good fortune, it has long been used in family crests. The Kumihimo (braided cord) tied to the Hagoita, which wards off evil, gently invites happiness.

The round tray base is made of solid cherry wood. Finished with beeswax, it enhances the natural beauty of the wood grain.

For the gold folding screen, we custom-ordered gold paper from Rekiseisha, loved by people worldwide, including GUCCI and HERMES, and renowned hotels and museums. Rekiseisha's unique foil stamping technique, which inherits ancient Japanese aesthetics, maintains its dignified shine over time. The back features Chiyogami (decorative paper) with cherry blossoms extending into the clear sky, creating a soft and gentle impression.

"Hinamame" blends seamlessly with any interior, whether French or Scandinavian.

It is chosen by many not only as a gift for a child's first Hina Matsuri but also as a reward for oneself or as a seasonal decoration to enjoy as one would arrange flowers.

It is delivered in a custom-made paulownia wood box. The paulownia wood, excellent in insect repellent, anti-corrosion, and moisture-proof properties, and resistant to burning, carefully protects the delicate Hina dolls.

It is not only a beautiful storage box but also a display stand, and easy to take out and put away. It's delightful that it can be displayed casually.

Why not subtly display it in your entryway or cabinet and create your own stylish Hina Matsuri?
