With the help of a designer whose hometown is Paris,
they are engaged in activities that promote the empowerment of women in developing countries.
The design is by John Felici, the founder of PO!PARIS.
Having worked on the design team at Astier de Villatte,
he utilizes his talent for bringing distant worlds together
to create products that value the environment and culture of the producers.
Weaving is a very ancient tradition in Albania.
Even today, three to four people weave side-by-side on the same type of loom used in ancient times.
They use techniques such as plain weave, knot weaving, and embroidery,
and the products are made in three workshops, each with its unique expertise, depending on the design.
The warp is made of cotton, and the weft is made of local Rud sheep's wool.
The yarn is hand-dyed, and the pattern is dyed while vibrations are applied.
Since the yarn and dyes are also produced in the workshop,
they can reproduce the delicate color tones desired by the designer.
PO!PARIS not only promotes social enterprises in developing countries, but also
incorporates local expertise and uses recycled or renewable materials
such as car bodies, coffee sacks, and tree bark
to create high-quality, charming, and sustainable products.
