With the power of a designer who calls Paris home,
we are engaged in activities that promote the empowerment of women in developing countries.
The design is by John Felici, the founder of PO!PARIS.
Having experience on the Astier de Villatte design team,
he utilizes his talent for bringing distant worlds together
to create products that value the environment and culture of the producers.
Weaving is a very ancient tradition in Albania.
Even today, three to four people weave side-by-side on the same type of looms used long ago.
Using techniques such as plain weave, knot weave, and embroidery,
the rugs are produced in three workshops, each with unique expertise, to match the design.
The warp is cotton, and the weft is wool from locally sourced Rud sheep.
The yarn is hand-dyed, and the pattern is dyed while applying vibrations.
Since the yarn and dyes are also produced in the workshop,
it is possible to reproduce the delicate colors desired by the designer.
The finish of the edges varies by size.
This 170x240 size has white edges on all four sides.
The slightly larger 200x247 size has
a gray line on the fringe side, and the pattern extends to the edge on the sides.
Rugs have the role of defining space,
so when deciding on a size, don't just match the size of your furniture,
please choose a larger one that fits the overall space of your room.
By properly defining the space,
your room will gain depth and a three-dimensional finish.
