The very popular Pygmy cabinet
has been reborn in a size perfect for Japanese homes.
Its understated ornamentation makes it a great first step into French chic.
Since being captivated by a French antique from the 1800s
that I imported when opening my store,
I have spent many years searching for such products,
but they are rare and hard to come by,
so I decided to reproduce them in a style suitable for Japan.
The previous size was impressive,
but in response to numerous requests,
we have created a 150-size version while retaining the classical design.
We have incorporated traditional European designs
into modern interiors that blend seamlessly with Japanese rooms.
It's a Louis XVI style, without the use of cabriole legs.
It features elegant curves on both sides.
Although it's a large cabinet, it doesn't feel oppressive because it has no sharp corners.
The chic and soft antique beige color.
It's not pure white,
but a subtle nuanced color created by mixing beige and gray into white.
Because it's a warm color,
it's easy to incorporate and goes well with other furniture.
The elegant and beautiful carvings and
antique-style finish are all done by hand by artisans.
The doors, designed like picture frames,
are adorned with button-like decorations at the four corners.

With a total of five drawers and doors, it offers excellent storage capacity◎
The central interior shelf is fixed and cannot be moved.
Simplifying the intricate construction has helped keep the price down.
Since there are no shelves on either side,
you can store long items like vases, which often pose storage challenges.
It also looks lovely to display mirrors or framed art on top of the cabinet.
Its moderate height allows you to decorate it with flowers, photos, glass ornaments, etc.,
creating your favorite space to enjoy stylish living.

Aiming for antique furniture, we create our pieces using the same construction methods from around the 1800s.
Therefore, chemical treatments such as waterproofing are
kept to a minimum, and the finish is done to a non-glossy degree.
The furniture is meant to be used to develop its character and enjoyed as it ages.
If you wipe the top surface with a wet cloth every time, the paint will gradually peel off after several years.
To prevent peeling and cracking,
it can be easily stopped by painting and finishing with varnish,
but it will become quite glossy and look like common mass-produced goods.
With such a finish,
scratches will just look dirty, and aging will just look old.
Please enjoy the changes, understanding its characteristics, while embracing stains and scratches.

※After arriving in Japan, Brand Juillet applies a waterproofing treatment. It is a simple waterproofing, so if liquid spills, it will naturally soak in after about an hour. Full waterproofing would create a sheen and gloss that would detract from the texture, so we use a simple waterproofing. While it is now more resistant to stains and scratches compared to traditional products, please be careful as placing hot items may leave marks.※To create an antique-like texture, a natural finish is used. Scratches and worn-looking dirt are painted on. If you look closely, they are delicately drawn with a brush.※There may be individual differences in the grain of the wood. Please be aware of this.

Before Purchase
※The metal fittings of the doors are designed with a slight allowance for movement. While misalignment may occur during delivery or use, you can easily resolve it by slightly adjusting the receiver fittings (top and bottom).
※As water-based paint is used, cracks as shown in the image may appear. While there are paints that can prevent this, we use an environmentally friendly paint that does not produce shine to replicate the antique texture, so please understand.
※Because solid wood is used, the wood may expand and contract depending on the season. (It contracts in winter due to dryness and expands in summer due to humidity.) For this reason, guide rails are not installed. Please be aware that the drawers may become difficult to open and close when the wood expands. Please open and close them carefully with both hands.
※Cracks may occur depending on the humidity level in the air. Solid wood adapts to environmental humidity, temperature, and exposure to sunlight, so it may continue to move for years if placed in a brightly lit area or too close to heat sources such as radiators or fireplaces.
※You may notice the smell of wood or paint when opening the doors or drawers. This will naturally disappear after a certain period of use, but if you are concerned, please use a commercial deodorizer. Please understand that the product has been properly stored in our warehouse.

【Characteristics of Solid Wood Materials】
In Japan, products typically sold as
solid wood may have thin plywood or other materials coated over them.
This is to make minor cracks less noticeable
or to harden them with a coating material to prevent minor cracks from occurring.
Brand Juillet's original furniture
differs from generally distributed furniture
in that it is created with the concept of becoming an antique in the future.
Coating would eliminate the natural texture of the material,
so we do not apply any special coatings, instead creating them using traditional methods passed down from the 1800s.
We hope you will enjoy the fine cracks and the texture that develops with use.
There is no solid wood that will absolutely not crack.
Even if dried for decades during the manufacturing process, cracks can still occur due to shrinkage.
To minimize cracking as much as possible,
though there are individual differences, please be careful not to let it dry out.
Upon arrival, a furniture specialist inspects it,
and before shipping, the shipping company conducts a second inspection.
Customers who are concerned about minor details should refrain from applying.
