Caring for silver products
I think many people are not very good at using silver products.
First of all, I had no idea how to take care of it, and after a while it turned completely black!!
Polishing silver in a mansion is one of the most difficult household chores a student can do part-time in the United States.
That's amazing, polishing silver all day long!
I tried to polish it with all my might, but no matter how much I wiped it, my hands and the cloth just turned black and it never got any cleaner...
Recent coating technology has improved, so it is no longer necessary to clean them as frequently as in the past.
Still, it's a bit of a hassle and not exactly a fun chore.
If you are having trouble, try using silver polish from the Dutch company Haggerty, available at Brand Julie.
All you have to do is apply the gel to a soft cloth and wipe it off.
It contains a coating agent, so once you wipe it, it will provide protection for six months.
You'll start to wonder what all the hard work was really for.
Don't worry, this is just a film of silver sulfide and is not rust.
Most commercially available silver polishes contain abrasives, which are used to finely grind and polish the silver.
The more you polish it, the blacker it becomes.
Hagerty also makes a product called the Silver Bath, which is made specifically for cylindrical cutlery.
Simply soak it in the liquid in the tube for 5 to 10 seconds, then remove and rinse under running water.
They can be reused and last for about 200 sticks.
A film of silver sulfide is applied to this liquid and the tarnish is removed by its reducing action.
Silver foam is made by applying a semi-solid foam to a sponge and whipping it up.
Rinse it just like you would wash dishes, then dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth and you're done.
According to the president of Hagerty, once you learn how to care for your silver, it becomes very durable and can be passed down for generations.
It is said that the reason silver products have not taken root in Japan is because people do not know how to care for them...and there is certainly some truth to that.

It's true that before this silver polish came to our store, caring for silver products was a bit of a hassle and difficult.
We have a lot of silver products in our store, but I've never felt the need to polish the silver.
I polish it occasionally when I feel it is getting a little cloudy. I use the 250ml bottle for about a year.
It will last even longer if you use it at home.

There is a reason why things have been rooted in Europe's long history and passed down through the ages, and there are many things about them that Japanese people are unaware of.
Adding a silver item to your dining table gives it a very weighty feel and makes the table look much more mature.
Even if you have small children in your home, you can use it without worrying about it breaking. Give it a try!
It will be fun ♪
