A large-scale antique fair for professionals Go to the largest exposition in France!
For brand Juliet, this is the first full-scale antique purchase. The highlight was participation in the largest exposition in France, which is held only twice a year. My heart is racing for the first time to participate in a big event where antique shop buyers and dealers gather from all over France!
I left the inn in the dark with a flashlight. By the time I arrived at the venue after driving for about an hour, the dawn finally dawned. Trucks line up at the entrance to the parking lot. Not only the vendors, but also the buyers will drive large trucks to purchase in large quantities.
part of the venue. It will be held using all the spaces, the parking lot where the truck is parked, and the buildings marked with "G" and "H". It seems that there are 4 more areas like this! ! The scale is unimaginable in Japan.
Antique cargo is steadily unloaded from the truck.
Buyers waiting for the opening. Everyone is serious. This was my first experience, but there is only one antique. Even if you miss it, you won't be able to get it again. I'm not good at mornings, but I wake up quickly!
From the time we unloaded the cargo, the things we wanted to see were sold one after another. Famous Parisian buyers and antique shop owners are everywhere!
roof decoration. how do you use it? There are other stores specializing in stairs, and I felt the depth of the store. Gray tin and slate roofs are symbols of Paris. Haussmann, who remodeled the city of Paris on a large scale in the 19th century, covered the roofs of buildings in Paris with gray tin plates, which is said to be valuable.
indoor booth. There are more elegant things lined up compared to the outdoors.
Silver cutlery is a popular item. There were also several dedicated booths, with popular items such as sterling silver cases (full pieces) and vintage Christofle items.
The reward for working hard in the dark is a warm cafe creme and pain au chocolat. The milk is rich and the scent of butter is the best! Take a break at the cafe stand in the venue and go around again.
The exposition of the first experience was a series of surprises and excitement. There is a collection of high-quality items that keep trends in check, and the dealers have a wealth of knowledge. I learned a lot. Also, the price is reasonable. I was just getting used to the market prices of Brocante and Vide Grenier, so I was able to carefully examine them, but if I had visited on the first day, I might have spent a lot of money (sweat). I am grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Okamoto who thought about the psychology of this area and made a plan!
The results of buying at the exposition are excellent. We ran out of packing materials, so we stopped at a huge hardware store near the venue on the way home.
A full-fledged product lineup, a wonderland for those who do DIY! ! The paint, parts, and tools in the unique colors of France are all fashionable. I ended up staying too long.
Such a cute cat-legged bathtub costs 70,000 to 80,000 yen (500 to 600 €)! Everything was on sale, from bathtubs and sinks to system kitchens and even staircase kits.
Full of stylish materials. This antique flooring looks like real old wood and is very well made!
Above all, the lineup of stone materials is a masterpiece! As expected of France. The southern part of France and Genoa in Italy are famous marble producing areas. Unlike the marble commonly seen in Japan, it has a stylish color and a matte texture, so it is wonderful not only for floors but also for table tops and exterior walls. I want to take it home~
The floor of the old store of Brand Juliet was exactly this marble. I received a lot of compliments, and I was able to put some of them on the porch of the customer and the floor for the store. I wanted to use it at the new store, but I was told that I could never remove it, so I left it in tears (tears).
When I happened to visit a home center, I realized that DIY, like antiques, is an essential pastime for French people. If you ask French people how they spend their days off, the answers they give are walking around flea markets, DIY at home, and having parties with friends. A house party is also a casual thing, where you bring small snacks and chat while drinking wine. I've always felt that French people value their family, close friends, housing, and individuality. Brand Juliet would like to continue to introduce wonderful things to help you with such a lifestyle.
