A hand-painted series inspired by John Derian's 12th-century Dutch Delftware.
Plates of various sizes faithfully reproduce the delicate decorations, hand-painted designs, and beauty of the glaze of the original works.
Themes range from pastoral landscapes, fruits and vegetables, to Chinoiserie (Chinese taste).
Pottery developed from old Imari ware and blue-and-white porcelain is revived with John Derian's new modern antique sensibility.
The retro color scheme, reminiscent of Japanese tableware and Majolica ware, is lovely.
The 19cm diameter plate is easy to use for everyday meals, as a dessert plate, or as a small dinner plate.
