ASTIER DE VILLATTE
ASTIER DE VILLATTE
A high-quality ceramic brand that has its workshop in Paris and produces everything by hand. It is widely known in and outside of France.
Based on the concept of "art in daily life," it features sophisticated designs that are thin, light, and durable, making them perfect for everyday use.
A collection of beautiful ceramics created in a Parisian atelier that carries on 18th-century craftsmanship.
The Josephine collection features a braided decoration,
meticulously woven by hand.
The intricate braided rim, which can only be achieved by hand,
adds warmth, and the wide rim is finished in a modern form that beautifully enhances the food.
The 20cm dessert plate is a versatile size that can be used with a tea set, with rice bowls or soup bowls for daily meals, or even as a main course plate.
The Josephine series is
designed by Setsuko Klossowska de Rola,
the wife of French painter Balthus.
From table collections like plates
to art-piece-like compotes with serial numbers,
it's a series that can be enjoyed throughout the interior.
This ceramic collection, a tribute to
Joséphine de Beauharnais, Napoleon's Empress (first wife),
was unveiled at the "REGARDS DE SETSUKO" exhibition
held at the Château de Malmaison in October 2025.
The Château de Malmaison, now a national museum,
was where Josephine spent her later years
and is known as the residence she purchased with Napoleon.
