Artist Yoshiko Yumoto creates Hinamame, one-of-a-kind Hina dolls with a delicate sense of color.
While cherishing ancient Japanese traditions and beautiful customs, these small Hina dolls can be easily displayed and enjoyed in modern living spaces. The charm of Hinamame lies in the meticulously handcrafted details.
These Kimekomi Hina dolls have an adorable, round shape like beans.
Their costumes are made from rare antique fabrics carefully passed down from the Meiji and Taisho eras to the early Showa period.
The Edo chirimen silk and high-quality fabrics with delicate embroidery and shibori tie-dyeing were discovered throughout Japan.
Their unique colors, patterns, and textures add an elegant touch. The white crane pattern on the female doll's kimono is a auspicious symbol, bringing good fortune.
The gentle expressions of the Hina dolls and Inubako (dog boxes) are meticulously hand-painted by a specialist doll painter.
The auspicious patterns on the ojiki (glass marbles) are created by molding individual pieces from stone clay and then layering soft colors.
The base is made of solid cherry wood and finished with beeswax, enhancing its natural beauty.
We also recommend adding accessories such as folding screens or hagoita (battledore paddles) to create your preferred display. This season, we have prepared two types of optional accessory sets. By gradually collecting them over the years, you can enjoy the changes and cherish the display for a long time.
Hinamame dolls blend seamlessly with any interior, whether French or Scandinavian.
They are chosen by many not only as gifts for a child's first Girls' Day celebration, but also as a reward for oneself or as a seasonal decoration to enjoy like arranging flowers.
The dolls are delivered in a specially made paulownia wood box. Paulownia wood is excellent for insect, rot, and moisture resistance, and is also fire-retardant, carefully protecting the delicate Hina dolls. It can be used not only as a storage box but also as a beautiful display stand, and is easy to put in and take out. It's wonderful to be able to display them without fuss.
Why not subtly display them in your entryway or cabinet to create your own stylish Hina Matsuri?
