The Josephine collection features carefully hand-braided
braided decoration.

The intricate braided rim, which can only be achieved by hand, adds warmth,
while the wide rim beautifully accentuates food, creating a modern form.

The rim is finished elegantly with a gold coating.
The 20cm diameter dessert plate is a versatile size, perfect for serving with a tea set, as a main dish plate, or even alongside rice bowls and soup bowls for daily meals.

The Josephine series is
designed by Setsuko Klossowska de Rola,
wife of French painter Balthus.

From plates and other table collections
to art-piece-like compotes with serial numbers,
this series can be enjoyed throughout the entire interior.

This ceramic collection, a homage to
Joséphine de Beauharnais, Empress (first wife) of Napoleon,
was first unveiled at the "REGARDS DE SETSUKO" (Setsuko's Gaze) exhibition
held at the Château de Malmaison in October 2025.

The Château de Malmaison, now a national museum,
was where Josephine spent her later years,
and is known as the residence she purchased with Napoleon.

Josephine, who collected many ceramics and deeply loved nature and plants.
Her aesthetic sense is reflected as botanical motifs
throughout the "Josephine" collection.
