ASTIER DE VILLATTE
ASTIER DE VILLATTE
A collaborative series with popular New York artist John Derian.
John Derian creates plates using decoupage in New York and is a highly popular creator at Blanc de Juillet.
A cool decorative plate printed on an Astier plate.
Astier's high-quality plate serves as the canvas.
The motif is an owl, known as a symbol of wisdom and a lucky bird of happiness.
It has a dignified presence, reigning at the top of the nocturnal ecosystem pyramid.
In addition to the delicate touch of the illustration, which resembles an antique painting,
the coloring is also detailed and faithful.
Each feather is carefully drawn one by one.
One of Astier's characteristics is its thinness.
It is convenient to store without taking up much space even when stacked.
While its delicate beauty like a work of art is appealing,
it is made by firing at high temperatures to increase strength so that it can be used in everyday life.
The back is marked with the Astier mark.
You may see dot-like marks, but these are made to lift the bottom during glazing.
They are proof of being handmade and are not scratches, so please rest assured.
Of course, it is wonderful as a dining plate,
but it is also lovely to display it on a wall or in a cabinet as a decorative plate.
There are other types of bird plates, so
it is fun to coordinate them together.
